S'mores in the Arbor

When is the S'mores campfire in the Arbor?

Fairlington Arbor minutes

In the minutes of the Abor board of directors for August, 2010, there was this piece;

[name withheld] raised his concern over an item in the July newsletter. Robert Ingulli promised that a correction would be mentioned in the August newsletter.

What was the item in the July newsletter, and why is the board of directors for the Arbor being secretive about it?

"No Parking Anytime" sign in the Arbor by the pool

As a parent of a two year old in the Arbor, I have noticed certain people are allowed to park on the emergency access road right by the jungle gym. Has this issue ever been looked into? There is a "No Parking Anytime" sign right there, and I believe it was put there for a legitimate reason.

I was told by a former Arbor resident that the parking there is for our management company (people who don't live or work here), and our president, who doesn't even live in the Arbor. Don't they realize how many kids play in that area, and driving up the access road where all these kids are playing is just dangerous and irresponsible?

Nanny

Are you in need of a nanny? I am helping a nanny find a new family. She is a wonderful, loving, trustworthy nanny. She has years of experience and is a mother herself. Prefers infants, but is wonderful with children of any age. Lives in the Fairlington area. Please send me an email if you are interested in more information or share this information with others. hkmathis@comcast.net Thanks, Kim Mathis

Claremont Families that take the Bus

My son is starting Kindergarten in the Fall at Claremont. I leave early to beat traffic and drop my younger son at daycare. Do your kids ride the bus to Claremont? Would you be interested in earning some extra cash? I'd like to find a responsible caregiver to put my son on the Claremont bus in the morning. I could drop him off at your house around 6:45. Let me know if anyone is interested.

LOCAL ANIMAL ADVOCATE WINS LAWSUIT AGAINST ANIMAL WELFARE LEAGUE OF ARLINGTON (AWLA)

Judge Rules under Virginia Animal Code in Favor of Plaintiff

Arlington—On June 4, Arlington County Circuit Court Judge Kendrick ruled that Virginia Animal Code 3.2-6557 is “crystal clear”—animal shelters must provide the information stipulated in the code when requested by the public. Arlington County homeowner Deborah Marson requested the Animal Welfare League of Arlington (AWLA) to provide her with the intake/disposition records in Fall 2008. When AWLA refused to release the information, Ms. Marson filed her lawsuit. Eight months after the original request, the court ruled that AWLA must provide the records within 10 days.
