I've just given the Fairlington News Forum a little face lift.

There is now a For Rent forum for listing and looking for rental properties in Fairlington.

I've also added a For Sale/Trade/Free forum for listing items you are trying to sell, trade, or give away.

Finally, there is now a forum to discuss remodeling issues and contractors.

Don't forget the FCA meeting tonight, Sept 9.

The guest speaker is VA Delegate David Englin. He will discuss HOT Lanes issues.

The meeting will start at 7 pm at the Fairlington Community Center, 3308 S. Stafford St. Refreshments will be served.

I want to thank the Fairlington Citizens Association for including an article about Fairlington News in the September 2009 All Fairlington Bulletin.

The board of the FCA has been tremendously helpful during the launching of this site. Sam Anthony and Christine Chirichella have been particularly generous with their time and ideas.

If you run into an FCA board member in the neighborhood, give them a "thank you" for all of the work they do for Fairlington.

Looks like the Shirlington Running Club really has their act together. They have a Meetup.com page and a Facebook page.

This is a great group that gets together every Tuesday for a run and then a beer.

There is an article this morning in the Alexandria Gazette Packet - A Hot Mess.

The City of Alexandria is considering joining Arlington County in attempting to slow the process until someone studies the effects of HOT lanes on neighborhoods like Fairlington, Park Fairfax, and Shirlington.

The January 9 Fairlington Community Association meeting will address HOT lanes issues. I'll post more details as we get closer.
